Forest Trouble - Grade 3

One day in a forest at 6:00 PM Melissa and Morris rabbit, Allie and Bert peacock were walking in the forest. Then they started talking.  "Did you see the king and queen? They are collecting more taxes than usual. Soon we won't have enough leaves to buy anything!" said the peacocks. "Well we have a thousand leaves. We will share with you. " Said the rabbits. They went to the rabbit's place and started to plan what they should do. "We should talk to them," said the peacocks. "That is a great idea." So they went to talk with the king and queen. Soon they arrived at the castle. The guards threw them out.  "Now What should we do?" They all said, after crying about their cuts. None of them had an idea until Melissa had an idea. "We should send them a letter!", she cried. So they did and this is what it said. Dear king and queen, we'd like to ask you when you're free to come and visit us sometime. Love, Bert, Allie, Melissa, and Morris. Sure enough the king and queen came. They got to know each other and found out they liked each other.
Moral- don't judge a book by its cover.
