Mars Postcard - Grade 5


Dear Mr. J,
The temperature here on Mars is weird! First it was as hot as 190 degrees Fahrenheit! Then it was -45 degrees Fahrenheit at night! That was weird. Plus, Phobos looks brighter than a star here on Mars. It only takes 7 and half hours to orbit Mars. A Mars day is half an hour longer than an Earth day, but a year on Mars is 687 Earth days.
Wow! I think I just saw Olympus Mons! That's the highest volcano in the solar system! Mainly, everything else other than Olympus Mons is just over here. Wait! An ice cap! That means that I am either on the north or south part of Mars. See you back at Conneaut! Hope I don't run into martians!
